golden Mountain of Medeo

Golden Mountains of Medeo, also known as Zolotye Gory Medeo, is a spectacular bicolour variety created by Kazakh breeder Vitaly Alifirov. Its name refers to Medeo, the famous mountain resort near Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The impressive 200–500 g fruits range from heart-shaped to softly domed, ripening to a glowing golden-orange with beautiful raspberry-pink blushing and streaks. Inside, the dense, meaty flesh is equally striking, with buttery yellow flesh marbled through with pink and red and relatively few seeds.

The flavour is wonderfully sweet, rich and fruity, with delicate tropical notes and gentle acidity. Plants are vigorous, indeterminate and productive, continuing to set fruit through the season.
