Minusinski Lion

Minusinsk Lion, also known as Minusinskiy Lev or Leo Minusinsky, is a rare Siberian heirloom originating from the legendary tomato-growing region of Minusinsk, Russia. Remarkably early for such a large beefsteak, it combines impressive fruit size with the ability to perform within a relatively short growing season.

The bright red fruits typically weigh 400–500 g, with exceptional specimens capable of reaching around 1 kg. They are slightly flattened with pronounced, pleated shoulders and wonderfully dense, meaty flesh. The flavour is rich and traditional, combining deep sweetness with a gentle acidity for a beautifully balanced, old-fashioned tomato taste.

Plants are vigorous and indeterminate, requiring strong support for their heavy fruits. A superb Minusinsk heirloom for collectors who appreciate giant beefsteaks, substantial meaty flesh, excellent flavour and relatively early production
