Minusinsk Red Balls

Minusinskie Red Balls (Минусинские шары красные),  is a traditional Siberian heirloom selection originating from the famous tomato-growing town of Minusinsk, Russia. It is prized for its impressive fruit size, productivity and rich flavour.

The large, deep-red fruits typically weigh 350–500 g, with exceptional specimens reaching 700–800 g. They are generally rounded with substantial shoulders, while fruits higher on the plant can become more heart-shaped. Inside, the flesh is dense, exceptionally meaty and sugary in texture, with relatively few seeds. The flavour is rich and notably sweet, balanced by just a touch of acidity.

Plants are vigorous, indeterminate and mid-season, reaching around 1.8–2 m and producing clusters of 3–4 substantial fruits. A wonderful collector’s variety combining classic Minusinsk heritage, heavy production, impressive size and superb old-fashioned tomato flavour.
