Freds Red Torpedo Tiger

Fred’s Red Torpedo Tiger is a striking elongated tomato with beautiful striping and a distinctive pointed tip. Inside, the fruits reveal spectacular green and red marbled flesh, with a juicy texture and pleasantly crisp yet tender skin. The flavour is rich, complex and exceptionally good, and the fruits also keep remarkably well after harvest.

Plants are vigorous, indeterminate and highly productive, producing an abundance of these unusual torpedo-shaped fruits throughout the season.

This variety has a particularly special provenance. My seeds came directly from Iva Grasa(Slovenia), the grower who developed and stabilised this variety from still-unstable seed she received personally from the late tomato breeder Fred Hempel. She named the finished variety in his honour.
