Alifiorov Secret

Alifirov’s Secret – Pink Selection 

This unusual selection came to me as Alifirov’s Secret, a variety created by Kazakh breeder Vitaly Alifirov. However, instead of the characteristic dark brick/chocolate colour associated with the original variety, my plant produced huge, beautiful bright-pink fruits. They were exceptionally meaty and substantial, and the plant was remarkably prolific, producing an impressive crop of large tomatoes.

Rather than sell these seeds as the original Alifirov’s Secret, I am offering them transparently as Alifirov’s Secret- Pink Selection. Tomato varieties that are not completely genetically stabilised can occasionally produce plants that differ from the expected type, a process known as segregation. A new expression can appear in colour, shape or other characteristics, and particularly interesting plants can then be selected and preserved through their seeds.

This is an early-generation selection and is not yet stabilised, so some variation may appear in the next generation. I am preserving it because the combination of huge pink fruits, exceptionally meaty flesh and outstanding productivity made this plant far too special to lose.
